Looking at upgrading the corsa. Very temped with Vxr. want more power as mines just to slow. i can afford the insurance on both the problem is the price of the cars. lol

can get an 07/08 plate vxr low milage for 10500-11000 and would be set
but i just hoping that if i get one i wouldnt always want an arctic. only thing is arctic would cost me 15000 with 2000-5000 miles on it.

should i wait for the arctics to come down or just get a vxr and be happy. only thing is if i get an vxr im gonna want the remus exhaust which will put the insurances up. oh decisions decisions. lol

let me know what u think.

Arctic is a killer of a car and looks immense. I'd be the same - if I bought a VXR then I'd always want an Arctic! But I'm not too sure. Arden Blue's the best colour on the VXR but then again they are very common these days. I'd go Arctic if I were you ... but it is £4000 or so more ... :|

BUT! Free Remus with the Arctic

I found myself in this exact dilema last year in November when I ordered mine. Went for the VXR in the end, the Arctic was a bit too "show offy" and "look at me" for my liking. But was always unsure until 2 weeks ago when I was back at the dealership and they had a arctic there, parked mine next to it and knew instantly I made the right choice. I went for Silver Lightening as it was subtle, but still looked the doggys doodars!

The Arctic is nice dont get me wrong, but is too ott for me

will keep u posted. deff keeping my eyes open for a cheaper arctic might go into dealership and see if they can help. if u see any let me know.

Arctic all the way tbh, you'll only wish you'd bought one if you get a VXR.

If I was to buy another VXR (Which I will one day), I wouldn't get the Arctic. Not too keen on white cars.

Imo red and the dark grey (Waynes grey) are the best colours. The only thing you get on an Arctic that you cant get on any other VXR is the sunroof.

Down to personal opinion though.

At 18, trying to get a fell remus system fitted + insured would cost the same as a small planet, lol.

You should be able to pick a decent second hand arctic up for the same price as a new VXR. New arctics for for like 14,000/14,500 anyhoo!

Arctic ftw.

I found that adding Remus to a VXR didnt increase the premium at all, I also found that insurance on a 2nd hand/ex demo VXR was more expensive than a brand new one!. Check the likes of Admiral, Elephant and Bell and get quotes.

Also no FULL REMUS System its just a backbox!

Still, Arctic ftw. :)

Think i'm going to move to them when my renewal comes through, tempted to cancel early but dunno how much they are going to rip me for..

I'm with Morethan.. They are okay with visual mods, 'cus they are free. Its just performance ones that they won't touch. :(

I'm on the same deal as you. Did they tell you that they wouldn't insure you at all with lowering springs, or was it just putting your premium up a lot?

:( I've not even asked them yet, but I assume from that I'll get a big fat no. Guess I'll be changing insurer for the third time in as many years.

If you up that excess it'll be even cheaper, £100 is nothing. You do live in one of the safest parts of the country though, sure that's a main facotr in it being so cheap.

There is a reason the Arctic is more expensive than a "normal" VXR The remus is not free it just comes fitted already instead of buying it from a distributor at even more cost and having it fitted

very true TJ. nothing in this life is free. another thing that is pushing me towards an arctic is that my insurance would be cheaper on an arctic than a vxr and rumus included. but if i saved money and got a vxr then bought the remus insurance would rocket.

still number crunching.

where u temped with the arctic tj?

Arctic wasnt even thought of by VXL when i ordered my VXR mate, mine was one of first off production line.

Id did like it but i would do exactly what i have done to mine to it, inc removing the remus rear box and fitting full milltek system.

Both are very nice, ive seen both..At the end of the day both are VXRs just the Arctic has White paint, Black Alloys a Sunroof and Remus back box. If i was buying one Id go for a standard one and go to TMS for Full Militek, I went in TJs and its insanse! All comes down to your own taste though and your budgets etc!

They wont discount a Arctic that much if any, but the "normal" vxr is available on a few schemes like 0% over 2 or 4yrs, FDA, choices scheme etc

Put your car back to standard they hate modified cars.
Make sure you wash it and have it in top condition for the valuation, its worth spending money to save money
Make them stick to the PX figure if you order new irrespective of any mileage incurred on your current car incase it car is needed longer than the delivery date (car could be late arriving in country)
Dont jump in with first dealer always get a PX value and deal from another dealer to pitch against the preferred dealer if you have one
Think about a budget ie top figure your willing to pay and shoot way below that to begin with you'd be suprised how low they will go especially at this time with the economy.
Do your sums on every available scheme that you could get the car on, sometimes the most obvious ones doesnt work out the cheapest!
