Hi..Today I was shocked by the drag result of my vxr vs a clio 172 RS...
We started from 0 to 220 km/h

Clio was ahead of me about 50 meters when I was going with 200 km/h,and at the start I couldn't even go near him... http://www.vxronline.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif

I asked the guy what mods was on the vehicle, but he said it was standart, only exhaust...I didn't belived him much,as the car's noise was like a Ferrari :O

And also my clutch is not working properly,as I'm waiting a new set to come..

I want to ask,
1st : How much the clutch can effect the power of my car as it's gone?
2nd : If the clio has straight through exhaust + remap,is it possible to go like this?
3rd : What is the optimal rpm range to switch gears? I'm doing this @ 6000 rpm..

1. Quite a lot if it is causing slippage.
2. hmmm Not quite sure on this one
3.6000-6400 imo

Power is gone by 6000rpm its a turbo car the power band is between 2.5k to around 4-4.5k

The clio should not have pulled away from your car being NA vs Turbo albeit probably lighter than the corsa

Noise means nothing in terms of power and pwer delivery.

The 172 is nearly 200kg lighter and revs happily to 7200, so when you change up its still accelerating in that gear. Thats why it beat you.

6k is to late of a change as the turbo has dropped it pressure (off boost) an no doubt changing at 6k will take the turbo ages spool up again (turbo lag) this with a nackerd clutch you didnt stand much of a chance tbh

driving a turbo/supercharged car is a total different style of driving to an N/A car imho
