View Full Version : Any VXR's using Big Brake Kits or New Discs??
Hello All,
As the title says any of you VXR lads using larger brake kits ? or even new discs and new pads ?
Whats kit are you using ?
What do you think of the kit?
Was the price in your eyes good / bad ?
What size kit ?
Just a little R&D work we are doing all and any information will be good.
Thanks in advance
Aaron
i Run AP Racing 4pot Kit with their Pad that comes with the kit its a fast road compound i believe
343mmx32mm Grooved floating Disc
Aluminium Bells
5.1 Fluid
Braided Hoses
Price was high but its an AP kit so paying for the quality, replacement discs alone are £730 a pair. Pads are tricky to source quickly
Cant fault performance of them for fast road use, not used on track as yet but plans are afoot to do so. I know someone that runs them on their track day astra been to the ring etc and they performed impecably.
Is now also an Alcon 4pot Corsa Kit in development i believe similar sizes and spec to the AP's but cheaper to replace discs/pads Alcons are available for the Astra VXR not long until its out for the corsa
Similar price to the AP kit to buy and fit too.
And the Vectra VXR discs/calipers conversion done by regal is available, at £1k roughly fitted Wayne runs this
As usual TJ, thanks for you help.

im running brembo 4pots, 322 discs but could use 345 from the vectra with 10mm spacers. manufactured the mounts myself, and using Pagid RS29 endurance pads, expensive but worth every penny

how much would some grooved discs be??
Hello,
Available in 8 / 12 / 16 grooves.
Which would you be looking for ?
Aaron
would just like a price for 12 groove... would this void warrenty?
12 Groove Disc £149.76
Thats for the front pair :)
Aaron
need no more than 4pots for these cars even the astra doesnt need 6pots but hey why not!
Tj : You can never have enough stopping power ;)
4 Pots are great however 8 Pots give you bragging rights lol
All aftermarket large brake conversions are a great upgrade, and for these prices you cant really say no :)

Very true Aaron. You must be expecting some highly tuned Corsas to need 6 and even 8 pots :D
