any info would be great guys cheers
You can't sell or part-ex the car as it doesn't belong to you - it belongs to the finance company you arranged the HP through.
You must get their permission to sell or trade-in the car, and they can offer you the following options:
1. the finance company will give you a settlement amount which you can pay to own the car outright, then you can do as you please;
2. you can enter into a new agreement - they will take whatever you're offered for the car (by the dealer) as payment toward what you owe on it, and offer you a deal on the balance and whatever you need for the new car.
Option 1 means you need the money up front, 2 means you're financing more. Either way you'll pay more than you are now, especially as interest rates have risen and credit is harder to get.
jace whats your job? :lol:
As what Jace had said mate, but you don't need the permission of the finance company. You just ask for a settlement figure and the garage will then sort out the rest. You will be carrying over negative equity, which is always a bad start to an agreement.
I did the above and I now have around £3300 negative equity :\.

We buy your car . com? You would still have to clear the finance on the D though depends how many payments are left?
With the c2 I only had it for a year and like 4 month but put down a hefty deposit and it was on a 3 year finance agreement with citroen itself but it was like intrest free in any case. The complication with mine though was the c2 was on a buisness account so that meant that the garage would have to write a cheque for the c2 value after the finance had been settled. If they didn't old taxman would wonder where the car went walkies too lmao! Anyway they where good old chaps give me free 6 months tax and other goodies a bit discount on the price too. So there it is picking the vxr up on monday and can't blooming wait haha. The test drive was awesome the remus was popping like mad and it felt like it was pulling like a train compared to the c2.
Anyway this is a stupidly long post I hope you get sorted, maybe try 2nd hand get it a bit cheaper and saved from the vat increase lmao :P
