id rather have the doors locked thanks! what you need to maintain in these situations is a stand off space ideally with something in between you and the attacker! whats to say as your happily handing over the car the attacker dosnt get too excited and take a swing anyway!
if im outta the car and they are close by im going for them! thats when things get very messy!
if i can stay in the car with the doors locked and i can maintain momentium and drive defensively that is the best option
things are getting worse out there total scum .....glad he got a way .
you could all ways run the scum over if he stopped you ? though you would prob end up in more bother than said scum for defending your self . MAD

My sister was "car jacked" she was leaving her office at work and walked out the car park with a friend that works with her, as she said bye to her friend she unlocked her Cooper S she was about 4 ft away from her car as she opened her drivers door someone jumped in the passengers and asked for the keys she tries to get out but when she turned there was a second guy there with a baseball bat she just gave them her keys and one of her mobiles and ran back to office the car was found 2 days later somewhere in Scotland barring in mind we live near Manchester burnt out! She now locks the door the second she in her car
It's scary **** the stuff that's happening these days, I always deadlock my doors when I'm driving and never have a window wide open at night, it's a lot of lonely country roads by my house and it would be ideal to do something like that there
It's wrong when you work hard to have a pride and joy and someone can just try and take it like that!

That's like the worst thing you could do! What if you crash? No one could get in to open it, you couldn't get out. If your electrics fail you'd be stuck in! Lock them yes, but deadlocking is silly to do while you're in the car!

On impact all vehicles with Deadlocking automatically unlock when the sensor Is triggered, well when someone crashed into me my car automatically unlocked itself allowing me to get out....

Even still, what if it failed? I don't think it's mechanical release, so if it failed, say for instance your electrics f*cked and started a fire inside the car, you'd be stuck?
God forbid that happens mind, I don't wish that on anyone. Just think single lock should be enough, after all, the deadlock gives you no extra protection if someone did try and get in - they couldn't with it locked normally.
Just buy a 1.2 then nobody would want to rob it!
You cant deadlock the car when you are in it, you can lock it yes, but deadlock - no.
Deadlocking the car means the doors cannot be opened from the inside if say someone smashed a window or used (old school i know) a coathanger down the side of the door, it is impossible to deadlock the car without pressing the button on the remote twice or inserting the key into the door handle and turning it to lock then holding it, neither of which you would do if you were inside the car when the is a lock door button on the dash.
Always have your doors locked when driving, it is not worth not doing it, in a crash the locks deactivate automatically, and in the very remote chance that this doesn't happen there's always windows to pop if necessary but you will get out of the car.

so thats the reason you have a 1.2 :P
