Petrol!!

Right so im driving along the other day and it says i have 60 odd miles left in the tank, starts the car up yesterday morning and its gone down to 40 odd, the petrol light has come on and next thing its telling me to fill up........ so i put a tenners worth of petrol in and it still says fill up..... last timei did that it jumped up to over a 1/4
just wondering if anyone knows why the stupid thing does that as its winding me up because i have no idea how much petrol i have, one time the needle says i have petrol abd ither times it doesnt!!!

You have to remember the price of fuels gone up agian so you're not really gettin that much petrol for your tenner.

stupid petrol reading on corsa ds is all i can think of mines same its so tempremental i recgon it must be a female sensor :P

Mine does it sometimes. I was told it was due to the baffles in the tank and it should fix itself when the car moves. If not you will need a new fuel sender.

ahaha thats the thing though, it moves when i get the expensive petrol....i reckon jet is ripping me off!!

Yip, theyre ripping you off,diesel for my car costs £1.10 a litre where i stay and thats from tescos lol

see when i got it from like tesco or jet at 107.9 it doesnt move, yet i got it from bp the other day and had ran it right down, at 110.9 it went up to over a 1/4 and it said it had 70 odd miles in it. hope i dont need a new sensor ive only had the car 3 weeks!!

Nah its a comman problem with corsas theres been loads of threads about it ,70 miles on a 1/4 tank i get double that lol
