average mpg corsa vxr is about 26-30ish normal driving thrashing will be alot lower, but if your drive like and old granny will obviosualy be alot higher then 30 mate, and insrurance will prob be 1000-1500 i shud imagine, i think the corsas are much better looking but all down to what you want fella

I just got a quote on a 2008 Astra VXR for a laugh. It was £1.600. Based on that, I don't think you'll do too badly mate.

My brother has a Astra vxr and it is a beast standard, my remaped sri keeps up with it for so far then my poor little engine runs out of puff lol, but the astra vxr was to good on petrol...

the astra vxr recaros just dont look any where near as good as the corsa, and tbh, there wont be much differnt in performance up untill 110 mph, but thats notthing tbh

07 plate corsas are coming on the market now - as people have had them for three years - some have stupidly low mileage - eg tj's - if you can find a low mileage one then age diesn't really matter - plus a 07 plate will be out of warranty - so a good excuse to get a new exhaust etc.

Then if the missus moans you've spent x amount on a exhaust just say they need a new one every three years!

Well im 21 with 4 yr no claims and my insurance on my vxr is 850 with my mum and dad on the policy as named drivers! When i first got it when i was 19 insurance was 2100 :-(.... It was still worth it though! lol. Oh yeah the policy is with Bell! Petrol isnt that bad really... however front tyres dont last long... even if the car is babied like mine! And theyre not cheap either!

Good point about the tyres - mine are £130 per corner - had a flat the other week. Petrol - I get about 30.5 mpg out of my sri - but thats mainly town driving - shouldn't think vxr will be much different. If ins is a massive problem - try the sri - mine is £380 with 2 years no claims with elephant - altho its probably cheap because I'm over 25. But I'm tight and don't see the point in paying loads for ins!

im with bell and mines 2k. astra is quicker. but more expensive and higher to insure. plu astra are more common atm as they have been about longer.
