View Full Version : Prices of vxrs today
I hit 20 next month and vxrs finally fall into my insurance price range at £2600 instead of almost triple that I was getting earlier in the year dont really know why the sudden drop keep rechecking if I put the details in properly.
How much are 07-08 vxrs now? and how much can I expect when part exchanging my standard 08 3dr sri 1.6t with just under 10k mileage, with a fairly large scratch on the bonnet which had been repaired (badly) by previouse owner and is still visible close up and also a tiny dent + scratch on the drivers door.
Thanks for any help.

lol oh nice one mate. who u get it remaped by? why you getting bored of it? you'' be down grading in power. even they they look much better lol
Remaped by thorney bluefin device, I would sacrifice the 10 or so bhp for a vxr anyday though :D
Depends what colour your after, spec etc and also mileage. For example you can get red ones fairly cheap - about £10 - £11k - for lowish miles. For your sri your probs looking at about £8000 trade in tops - due to scratches etc - maybe a bit less. Why don't you buy some recaros?
if your bored of the sri - you will probably get bored of the vxr as well - same engine etc.
£2600???
Its only costing me £1800 to insure a 2010 2Litre RenaultSport Clio. :o

I think the VXR is 1 insurance group higher than the Clio though?
Also. For a second hand VXr you'd be looking at around 10k or just under. Just look at TJ off of here. He sold his stage 2 VXr for a touch under 10k. That was a lot of car to.

is it? might be the reason then. i thought they were the same and with the clio having the bigger engine and being more expensive that it'd push it up on the insurance.

I was thinking roughly the same but dont get me wrong about the scratches you can barely see them more then 5 feet away, the cars in mint condition inside is flawless and the mechanic side with just 9000 miles done. Dont think i'll get bored it's not all about the engine its the fact its a vxr :)
I been offered 11.1k for my vxr -silver lightening 28k 09 plate

i thought that lol - you have a vxr in a diff shell .. just put the correct shell on it :)
your laughing then because when someone gives it beans .... you give it back no diff to the vxr would .. why pay an extra few hundred to insure a vxr when youi almost have one on yiur drive
Decided to wait for july till I got 2 years no claims and 22 weeks worth of wages under my belt then going to look at racing editions/arctics well excited :D arctic seems to be cheaper in insurance then the racing edition how come?
