Looks a nice car matey, I am soooo close to getting my D now I can't wait. One question though.... what is the 1.2 engine like? Suitable power for a small engine in a bigger car?

mk_king
11-09-2007, 20:40
i find it comfertable , i live in probably one of the most needed places in britain for a nippy car (constant duel carriege ways) and i keep up with and overtake traffic with ease

JOEY

my gf has the 1.2 Corsa D. its a good enough engine. i mean, it does the job fairly well.
just cant expect it to be incredibly racey.
there is a big difference between that and the 1.3 CDTI 90 of mine though.
just cant imagine what the higher engines feel like!

Yeah I wasn't really after anything performance wise, as long as it gets me around I am happy lol

Right changed my sidelight bulbs to illegal blue ones, how strict are the police on these, is it just a fine or points, bear in mind they are VERY VERY VERY Blue

JOEY
12-09-2007, 18:01
seen a few around.
think the charge will depend on the attitude of the police officer. doubt there will be points off, probably a slap on the wrist and told to take them off. a fine at most.
halfords have those Prism White Leds which are ok... they look blue on camera.... LOL.

mk_king
12-09-2007, 20:43

There about as legal as having a crap in a policemans hat im afraid, just got to be careful.

Well now its time to start my install, got my Sony-Mex-R1 (google it :) ) to go in with 7" moniter, and pioneer 6x9s. And looking into buying a vibe install for the boot as ive just sold my fusion set up, :(

Very nice car!

I think the blue LED's should be fine, as I had proper blue one's in my C, and never got stopped once. I also had bluey/greeny headlights too...

mk_king
09-10-2007, 18:11
not too sure yet, apparently the bloke said because it was on the jack for quite some time, it should settle down shortly

BTW The car needs spacers on the front otherwise wheels rub onto the calipers

bennymamo
09-10-2007, 23:08
yea they might settle for about just 0.5 of an inch.. at most!

10-10-2007, 06:51
that looks well nice m8!
i sold my 17" alloys but tbh i like the alloys that came with mine but iv decided just to make the interior as nice as i can without toutching the outside! iv got tints which make it look nice but dunno about the outside i cannot be arsed changing over insurance again and payi9ng over the odds on premiums for a few bits of exterior mods.

Looks nice. You'll have to get some bigger pictures up. :)

I had the same problem with my old wheels. With the spacers, there was roughly 1mm, or less between the wheel, and calliper. I couldn't fit my finger in the gap, put it that way!

mk_king
10-10-2007, 07:19
well my car wouldnt actually move because the calipur was wedged between the spokes, so i fitted some spacers, and its still catching slightly so im off to work to pick some new ones up soon

lanni
10-10-2007, 21:01
hoe did you get on mate.

mk_king
10-10-2007, 21:04
well, went to work and fitted some new 3mm ones at lunch as the ones the garage put on were only 2mm, and they were REALLY REALLY BAD, so the 8mile drive home on a busy dual carriage way at 30mph was **** scary, so when i got back i took it into the garage, and demanded it be fixed instantly,

10minutes later and a set of 5mm spacers later, and my car is spot on :D

lanni
10-10-2007, 21:07
gdgd how put them on for you. did halfords not fit them for you?

mk_king
11-10-2007, 07:08
no the cheeky buggers dont fit em, so i took em to a garage round the corner. and they did it for a tenner

lanni
11-10-2007, 17:03
Cool why dont they fit them i think the do in mnchester.

mk_king
11-10-2007, 21:36
some stores did trial it but it wasnt safe with wonky car parks :|
