Anyone with a 1.3 CDTi 90 what sort of MPG do you reckon you are getting. I have the plus pack fitted so have the onboard trip, I think it's telling me lies as it never goes over 39MPG. I now have 760 miles on the clock so it must be getting about run in.
I reset the trip last time I filled up and I will calculate the MPG manualy to see what I am really getting. Just wondered what you guys were getting in your and can you get anywhere near Vauxhalls claimed 60MPG (I know you have to drive like grandma to do that!)
In all honesty I think you'll have to put a LOT more miles on the clock before you start getting optimum MPG.
I've had my 1.7cdti 3 months now and the MPG is slowly improving but nowhere near the figures quoted.
Friends I've spoken to say it took their various makes of diesels a few thousand miles before the engine settled in so stick with it but expect a good 6 months of motoring before the old diesel engine beds in.
I've got just over 2,500 miles on the clock, and I'm getting about 125 miles to £10, whatever that is. I get more on the motorway, and about 100 miles for £10, if I rag it a bit.
Right as of Monday last week Filled it to the Full £35, reset trip, trip now showing 267Miles tanks is sitting just above the 1/4 tank mark the now. the car has done 2633Miles all in., also i pretty much all ways have the AC on.
(Keith whats the final word on the Headlights for the D are thay H7 or ......)
my 1.3 90ps loan car is as bad as the 1.4 i had before getting about 280 to a tank tho there is only 1000miles on it. The mpg figures quoted by vaux are utter sh1t. my 1.7 was woeful as well
the newer engines need a few thousand miles to bed in.. for some reason some might need upto 10k.. :\
Mines just about to turn 50k on the clock (1.7 CDTi C) and i have currently got 550miles out of a tank.. with a little left!
You just need to be patient with the engine as it beds in.. the more miles on the clock the better the mpg will become.
But it also depends if you alot of urban driving or motorway stuff too..
TBH.. i found the 1.3 curtesy car i had when my C was having the fuel pump replaced just DRANK fuel.. 90miles to a 1/4 tank :| (thats with nearly 8k on the clock..)
My 1.7 does 110 to a 1/4 without trying.. :\
But it might take a ALONG time to break the engine in to get its best MPG, but knowing the best millage is unknown as every engine is different!
Went to see my folks in the midlands last weekend, 260 mile round trip and was doing between 80 - 90 on mway and returned approx 50mpg so very happy with that. Also, the car now seems to doing much better mpg just going backward and forwward to work.
woohooo i got a whole 263 miles from a full tank! n i mean the tank was necked and the light was flashing when i pulled into the shell station. Its true but rental cars are faster
how long is a piece of string mate?? delivery is expected on 28th dec for my SRi but they are trying to bump it up the queue. if its going to be any later than september they are going to have to give me a better rental cause the 1.3 is shoooooot.
Just an update on my MPG. I took the car back to vauxhall on Tuesday, and they put a new engine map on. The guy at the garage said the new software update had only come out that same day.
It does seem to have made a big improvment on my MPG. Now getting between 45 - 50 just going to work and back, which is stop start driving in town.
im on nearly 16k mate.... getting bout 400-440 to £40 tank
