Hi all, i bought an 58 plate corsa still under warrenty, and the drivers door side window is scratched on the inside at the top of the window, it looks like someone has used a wire brush on it.
My question is can i claim a new side window on my insurance, even tho it was there when i bought the car?
im fully comp with more than, protected no claims etc..?
cheers in advance
I dunno because the general rule of thumb is repair before replace... but with the fact it's scratches and will have no structural problems they may not honour the claim... I work in a claims department mind and I've never had someone come through and ask for that :S so best to ring up your insurer!
Well it seems that it cannot be repaired as the scratches are too deep. and it could be classed as obstructing my view if the window was down slighty. been quoted 260 quid for a new window, but through insurance it would only be 60 quid excess.
Tryed a number of times, but they are saying that i should have seen it, before i drove it away, im well pissed off!!
The garage is Evans Halshaw just off felling bypass in Gateshead just to warn others.
