Due to this time of year and the weather being rubbish and a death in the family, Iíve not done anything or felt like doing anything to Gina since my last update.

On a positive note, I received the best Xmas gift ever, a Autoglym all in 1 car care kit, Itís got everything! I canít wait for the weather to improve so I can use it.

Gina really needs a full detail, and with this kit and all the other stuff Iíve got, sheís gonna sparkle.

Ahh buddy. So sorry to hear of the passing of a family member. Chin up.

Hopefully keeping busy on your wagon will help. Take care and have a peaceful new year.

Thanks mate, Itís been a tough end to the year but, Iím ready for some new things to come both in my life and for Gina.

Iím looking to go to larkspeed in Leeds very soon, they have finance options for lowering kits, springs and shocks.

So hopefully Iíll have a big update (with pics) soon. Bring on 2019!!

I thought Iíd update this as itís been some time since I last posted anything.

So being honest nothing has changed, I havenít been able to go anywhere because I torn a ligament in my knee, so Iíve been unable to walk properly and been on sick for nearly 3 weeks.

My plans havenít changed but things will have to wait a little longer as Iím behind on afew bills and need to catch them up asap. I am back at work but Iím finding the clutch in my truck is not helping my knee. By the time I get to the weekend, my knee is so sore that I canít go out to tinker on Gina.

I still want to get the new suspension setup that I mentioned in my last post, so when I get chance, Iíll be getting the parts bought and fitted.

    Iíll update again soon

Hereís a pic of my car on Friday late afternoon when I got back to the yard. I wasnít happy at all. Someone thought it would be funny to splash the car with the large puddle that I parked next to. Click here to enlarge

Might be heading to a youtuber car meet at yum cars in Mansfield on Saturday 16th. Iíve already met jono (rusty phat) afew times, and his car meets are getting very popular. Iím looking to get/buy some yum car products from the unit whilst Iím there.

    Big update,
I spoke to larkspeed (who are based in Leeds), on the phone about availability of parts and cost for parts. I told them I wanted bilstein b4 front and rear and also eibach pro springs. They told me that they donít hold them in stock and would have to order them in. The cost was calculated to be just over £400 but with the finance option would be almost £500.

Iíd already looked at demontweeks to see what they charge on their finance options. Demontweeks offer finance over £250 at 0%.

So Iíve ordered from demontweeks, bilstein b4 front and rear and the eibach pro springs for £395 at 0% over 6months, Iíll be paying £65.95 for 6 months.

The items should arrive before next weekend and Iíll be looking to get them fitted ASAP.

After this itís a remap at pk automotive in Lincoln, stage 1 should take my car from 140bhp to 180-185bhp. Thatís a plug and play map they have tried and tested with their own rolling road. The remap for mine is £249.

Lots of exciting things coming for Gina very soon.

    Just to point this out,
I spoke to my insurance company about changing the suspension before I ordered the parts.
Iím all good to go, itís been put down on my policy as a suspension change/modification and itís added only £37 to my total policy.
So once they arrive I can fit them and not worry about having to make a call to say they are fitted.

Itís worth asking your insurance first before doing any changes, just in case.

Definitely post some pics up once youíve got the new suspension. No doubt itíll aid braking and handling. Definitely a good setup. The power gains look good but itís going to put more stress on your turbo especially. Check what hoses need replaced and check the clips if there are any badly rusted ones.

Yeah Iíll definitely get before and after pictures, itís not going to be a massive drop, only 30mm.

In relation to the remap, Ive been and spoke to the lads at pk automotive about getting them to check and replacing any rusted jubilee clips, or pipes etc etc. They said they do a check of all the turbo related stuff before any remap just to be on the safe side.
They advised me to change my oil and filter before the remap, and to also top up or replace the coolant if needed.
They said itís not necessary but itís just good practice to get it ready, almost Like a mot prep afew days before it goís in.

Just waiting for the bilstein b4s and eibach proís to arrive now, getting excited.

So with today being nice, I decided I was going to treat Gina to a full detail.

Iíve snowfoamed, washed, tar removed, clay baríd, polished, waxed, interior spray shampoo, new air freshener, blacked the tires, gloss coated the alloys. Wiped down the engine plastics, polished the windows, hoovered. Just gone to town really.

    Iíve used products from,
    Autoglym,
    Meguires,
    Auto finesse,
    Poor boys,
    G3,
    Dodo juice.

Iíve pretty much used everything I had in my detailing arsenal on Gina today.

I spent 5 1/2 hours doing all this lot, and now Iím sat drinking a coffee and chillin.
Only got this picture as my iPhone battery died before I could take any more.

Just something else Iíve found out about my car,
She prefers shell v-power over bp ultimate.
What I mean is, she pulls better and gives afew mpg more on v-power.
I donít know if this is in my head or not but, She just seams to feel smoother and more linear on v-power.
Is this normal or weird or just a quirk of my engine or completely in my head?

Had enough of all my detailing gear being dumped in my airing cupboard and getting lost in the dark. So today I decided to buy some racking/shelving to put in my small electric cupboard and to store all my detailing gear in their new home.

To explain, Iíve just finished painting and carpeting the electric cupboard out.
I used to have my mountain bike in there with afew tools boxes, Iíve now moved those to my bedroom.

    Gina. (Gt tdi golf)

Iím still waiting for my new suspension to arrive, it seems to be taking ages, Iíve already spoken to a local vw specialist about fitting them and the price for the work, I just need the parts and then I can book Gina in.

    On another note,
Iíve just won some replica monza 18 inch alloys for less than £100.
Iím collecting them tomorrow morning as Iím actually visiting family in the same town as the seller, purely random.

The wheels definitely need a refurb and Iíll be looking to buy some new tyres for them before they are fitted to the car.
Iíve heard some people say that 18s are too hard a ride for the tdi, if so I can always sell them on, so no worries.

Iíll post some pics of the wheels once I get them home.

I could do it myself but Iíd then have to pay somewhere to do the tracking after itís all fitted.
The vw specialist I spoke to, said theyíll do it as part of the work. The plan is to drop it off on my way to work, and then collect it when I finish.
I just struggle to find the time with doing 60-70hrs work a week.
So Iím going to get it done for me this time.

I drive for a haulage company and we've recently taken on a massive contract to transport goods for a leading supermarket chain. So my hours have jumped up from 48hrs to 60-70 hrs a week. 10 hours of that is Saturday's loading the trucks ready for Monday morning and general warehouse stuff. The rest of the week I'm on the road delivering goods all within a 100 mile radius of my base. I love the job but it leaves me with very little time to do much at the moment. It's a new contract so after afew weeks, my hours will ease slightly as I get used to where the new sites/stores are.
It all means I'll have more money to spend on Gina, hence the new suspension on order and now the alloys I've just bought.

I went to Sheffield today to collect my eBay purchase.
    Replica monza 18inch alloys.

Click here to enlargeClick here to enlarge

The alloys need a refurb and Iím going to get brand new tyres once the wheels are ready.

All the wheels have some lacquer peel and variations of kerb rash.
Two tyres have 5mm of tread and the other two have 2mm of tread.

It may be afew months until these are done, but Iíll post pictures once they are ready to be fitted.

    Just a little update,

Iíve still not received my bilstein b4ís and eibach springs from demontweeks yet.
I ordered them on the 16th of February and received an email stating they confirmed the order and the items would be with me within 2weeks. Obviously itís been a little while longer than 2 weeks, so Iíve rang them to ask for a delivery date. Anyway the date they gave me came and went and still no parts. I called them afew days ago and now they are saying I will get them at the end of this month.
The problem I have is that I was hoping to get the suspension all fitted and done before Gina has her MOT on the 12th April.

So Iím currently in limbo about when Iíll get the parts, Iím sure itíll be worth the wait.

Once the rear shockers arrive, hopefully soon, Iíll be getting everything fitted.

I can honestly say, my experience with buying from demontweeks has been terrible.

What a pitty about the rear shocks not coming. I would be having a word there with them. Push for some form of compensation on the price of the shocks. Looking forward to pics

The alloys look diamond cut. You should try to avoid these alloys as they are I Biach if you scratch them. The whole cut section has to be redone each time. They do look nice though. Please put on some decent rubber. A good tyre that wonít break the bank is Nokian ZLine. They get great reviews and are slightly cheaper than the usual top brands. Brilliant in the wet. What size tyres go on the alloys?

The tyres that I mentioned are known for winter but their summer tyres are right up there with the best. The new model of the Nokian z Line is Nokian power proof (2019) model. There is also the Goodyear Eagle f1 asymmetrical 3 going cheap because the new asymmetrical 5 is out.
