This is going back a while, but when i first got my 1.0l corsa D life the radio it came with was rubbish, just radio or CD. So i got an after market radio off ebay so I could play spotify off my phone on it. I tried to install it myself but gave up and got halfords to do it, then when I tried to play music with my car off it wouldn't. I was gutted because at least the original would work with the car off, but with this one now I would have to drain my battery, I askef halfords about it and they said its not possible to get it to play without the car on, at the time I just sort of accepted it but I want to see if I can sort it. Surely I just need some kind of power cable or something hooked up to the battery?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

The aftermarket ones draw power to run correctly and if they don't come on, the battery has a low charge.

The OEM one will still draw power to operate but not as much.

So either way the battery will loose it's charge after continuous usage of the stereo in use with the car off.
