Airbag warning light fault B0014 drivers side airbag squib circuit low voltage.

This was caused by the wire going from the side airbag in the drivers seat wearing through and shorting on out on the chair frame. The wire runs from the airbag along the back of the seat and down near the seat belt buckle to the connector block under the seat.

To access the wire push the drivers seat fully forward and wind the seat back fully forward.
Along the bottom edge and up the right hand side on the rear of the seat back there two plastic strips that pull apart giving you access to the back of the seat. The cable had worn through shorting out on the chair frame as the edge of the chair frame is very sharp.

To repair I wrapped the wire with insulation tape. Next i got a length of garden hose and cut this along its length then slotted this over the cable. I then tie wrapped it to stop it slipping off again. The pipe now fully protects the cable so it never happens again. Job done in 5 minutes. Then had the warning lght reset at the garage.

Had this happen to me a few weeks back now, just seen this thread and investigated...

Looks like the wire behind the seat back will rub on the metal support and over time short out,

I wrapped the wire in amalgamating tape and then in electrical tape, I also covered the metal support with foam tape and cable tied to keep it there...

Hope the photos help :-D
