is it worthwhile just buying the glass only and fitting it over the broken glass or buy the glass with
the backing plate?
See above, and please get a decent one, as the ones off the auction site, the one with 4 different colored letters, can be a bit 🩲 unless they’re genuine Vauxhall. Just be gentle prising the old one out as glass shards will go everywhere and it’s quite a job to get them pressed back in!
i agree its better to get the mirror with backing plate.i have seen an item on ebay for £11 which looks ok.
i dont want to spend a lot on the part from vx dealers.i got the plastic removal tool but i shall be ge gentle when pressing the mirror into place.
