I will need to jack my car up at some point and to be safe I'm going to buy jack stands. I'm not sure how heavy the car is but I think I'll just get the 3 ton ones anyway.
Also, if I use the scissor jack to lift the car up at the jacking point where does the jack stand go? Because the jacking point would already be occupied by the scissor jack.

If you are going to work on the car regularly get a trolley jack the scissor jack is for emergency use only and having had a car move on me on one in the past i would highly recommend not using one.

As for positioning of the axle stand when you use a trolley jack you can jack the car under the shock mounting points at the back and the suspension pivot points at the from leaving the jacking points free for the axle stands.
