You now own a lock you didn't need that has not fixed the problem you should have spent £8 on a multi-meter it would have saved you money and would have pointed you to the original problem.

The attitude comes from spending my time advising people who ask for help only for them to ignore it you obviously had decided it was the lock not the power supply to it so now you have paid for something you didn't need at this point as those in the dragons den often say "I'm out"
