Your gear linkage may need adjusting.
Take to a local garage to get it checked.
Cheers for response mate they've had a look and also are scratching their heads at the problems since that day I've had the issues driving to and from work and local driving the cars been ok but appreciate you help

Ideally you need the clutch and gear linkage taken out the car to identify what's causing the issue. I had similar issues a few weeks back when my gears suddenly went stiff in gears 1/2 and got specialist anti friction dry PTFE lubricant WD-40 and sprayed that into the linkage under the gearstick gasket and moved it around for 15 mins and became very loose to what it was.

It's either your clutch needs replacing or needs lubrication especially if there is none it will struggle to move.
