Corsa D wont start after hard braking

Hi All,

looking for some help. Was driving the 1.4 2012 Cosra D yesterday and someone pulled out in front of me. I had to press the brakes hard and the car stalled and the battery light came on.

After this the car would not start, it turned over but wouldn't start. I was on a hill in a dangerous position, so I managed to steer it down the hill and it did start a few times but then cut out shortly after. I managed to get it to a car park at the bottom of the hill and then had it towed to a garage.

I thought it might be the battery but they have looked and said its not the battery and it's showing an error code as open circuit on 4 injectors. They have said they think it's electrical and not something they can fix. I don't really think they spent long looking at it and I would have taken it elsewhere but as I had my 2 year old son in the car when it was towed I had to go somewhere close to home.

My friend is a mechanic and had a very quick look this evening and eliminated the earths but he couldn't stay long and is now away for a few days.

I'm a bit stuck now as I cannot move the car without getting it towed again. I think the garage are going to move it tomorrow onto the street (it's actually a side street in an industrial park so it's fine for me to go and work on). Are there any easy things I can try just to eliminate possible issues?

Any help much appreciated and thanks in advance.

Managed to get there this evening and got code p0007. The battery light, engine management light and ABS light was on but none were flashing.

It does seem as if the battery is almost completely dead now though as it was just clicking and not doing anything else (video 20251008_192304.mp4 )

P0007 - Fuel shut off valve-Circuit high...... Wiring short to positive.

The corsa doesn't have a fuel shut off valve, in the event of a crash is relies on sensor data to cut the fuel, maybe the harsh braking has triggered this??
I can only assume it's a fault/failsafe in the fuel pump wiring, the first things I'd check are the relay and fuse in the engine bay fuse box. (see pic)

Do you know which engine code you have eg: A14XER, Z14XEP

Thanks for the reply.

I'll go and get the engine code later. I did check the small fuses and couldn't see anything blown, but didnt check the one labelled 5 above.

I doubt I have a spare for that though.

Thanks again. I will give it a go this evening.

I am certain the battery has gone since I took it in as last night the lights and everything were dimming very quickly. Ill will change the fuses and then see if I can jump start it.

Sorry for the late response. I swapped the fuses as suggested but still no luck. I had to use a battery booster t o try as it was drained.

Reading online it seems that code p0007 might be a red herring.

I am going to have it towed to another garage I think.

Going back to the start.... when you said the car stalled, was that because you forgot to dip the clutch?

When you turn the ignition on can you hear the fuel pump running under the rear seats?

Have you checked if the battery and ecu are secure? Just thinking of them possibly moving under harsh braking.

Do you have another key you can try?

Hello, I defiantly had the clutch pushed in when it stalled. I have two keys and have tried both with no luck.

Battery is secure and I will check the ECU, I will have a listen for the fuel pump if I get a chance later.

Thanks again
