Looking for a bit of advise

Parents got 62 plate 1.2 corsa D from new. On route home the exhaust fell off!! Thankfully not driving at high speed
No prior warning, not pointed out at Vauxhall service or MOT.
should look to replace with stainless steel or just get Vauxhall to fix?

Given it’s lasted 10 years there’ll be nothing wrong with like for like from a tyre garage etc, vx will have your pants down and I’d be tempted to replace manifold back as these things have a habit of replace 1 part of the exhaust for another part to go 6 months later. As for stainless steel, unless you’re keeping it forever don’t bother as it can prove slightly less flexible and can crack, but as always, check the costs for each and go from there.

As Dave says don't go to Vauxhall go to a local garage with a decent reputation and get them to advise, if they say it needs a full system bite the bullet it'll probably be the last time it ever needs changing.
