Hi I’ve a CDti 1.3 with 130.000 on the clock 14 plate I’ve been having issues now for about 14 months 12 in total glow light comes on while driving sometimes when starting up stays on it giving code reading at garage this issue is sorted roughly every 6/7 week later glow light then limp mode garages now rely on codes is there a bigger problem /electric gremlin

Mine is pre-DPF but I believe that the glow plug light is also used to warn of high-filtration levels in the DPF that requires you to do longer journeys with higher revs.

If I remember right the glow plug light illuminating when driving means it's doing a regen and you need to keep driving at dual carriageway speeds until it goes out if it's going into limp mode before clearing it would suggest the DPF could be in a bad way.
