Basically I just bought my friends old sub which is one of these: http://www.vibesuperstore.co.uk/products/40/104/edge_edb12ta/
and it peaks at 1800w (consists of two 900w subs) and has the amp built in but dont know what the amp makes or puts out (also has rms power: 600watts, no idea if that means anything or if that is the amp :dontknow:) . So would I need a 2000W wiring kit since its 1800W? or a 1000w one? I have no idea about this stuff :p

Would this be suitable if I did need 2000W wiring kit?

I'm pretty sure it's 600w RMS for them both together. RMS is basically the recommended amount of wattage you would use so technically with only 600w RMS you can use any wire, but I would stay well clear of 10 gauge and go for more 4 or 8 gauge. Might want to invest in that 4 gauge kit so that if you ever do upgrade you can just leave the wiring where it is and just swap out the amps and sub(s). Isn't that expensive anyway! The main part you need to worry about with sub power is buying the amp to power it but because that has one built in you don't have to worry so much. Hope this helps :)

Thanks a lot mate. Very useful information, really appreciate it :doublethumbs: think I will just go ahead and get this kit instead since I know I am just going to be using that sub and upgrade my door speakers but not much more than that.
