Hey guys.

Recently saw a magnetic sump on ebay for my corsa D 1.2 2013 sxi. I was wondering if anyone has changed to one on there and what there opinions on them are?

Thanks.

I’ve got one on my car.
I fitted one because I chewed up the oem plug trying to remove it.
The magnetic ones are better in two ways,
Firstly, u can take it off/out so much easier. Secondly, it does collect tiny particles of metal. U can’t see the particles but you can definitely feel them.

Removing and refitting is only an issue if someone has over tightened it previously or not changed them at each service to the point the torx hole is screwed up though.

I personally just fit standard ones as ECP do them for £2.70 inc the seal.

My thoughts are if you find stuff stuck to the magnet between services you've probably got bigger problems than a sump plug will save you from.

Its not going to hurt fitting one though.

Mine was definitely over tightened, hence why I changed it. I thought microscopic bits in the oil was normal wear and tear as long as it wasn’t loads?!
