2/ the windscreen washers seem to squirt on the wiper arms where ever you aim the jets then the screen gets covered with water as your driving spraying up from below. can i change these to insignia ones? where / how?

On eBay and there's a tutorial on here!!

 

1/ i need to change the front door hinges or whatever as they are so creaky and loud and feel cheap and tinny which makes the whole car feel ****e. where can i get new ones? are they straight swap and can i do it myself?

3/ the gears are awful i have had the clutch changed but its getting bad again. any easy fix or ???

4/ air intake. it seems to go straight behind the v grill, how does it get any air in. is there a chanfe for this?

1, have you tried wd40 on the hinges, this might just fix the problem.

2, yes you can change the washer jets, set of insignia ones on ebay are about £5. and I did do a tutorial on how to fit them

3, have you checked the gear linkage bars? if these are worn out you could have problems selecting gear

4, the air intake pipe does have a slot in it (hidden behind the v grille) if you take off the intake pipe you will see the slot

 

get a cold fee on it , it is blocked and the pipe is tiny mate .insignia jets are wicked my first mod lol. a new box will cost between 1000 - 3000. depends on where you get the box from and whether you fit it your self. its 2000 ish from VX for a brand new one.

the gearboxes are made out of biscuits and jelly mate unless its the m32 for the vxr. i feel ya pain , mine goes from 2nd gear into 1st instead of 3rd if ya dont pay attantion, which should not happen.

 

mate the m32 is poor aswell (obviously depending on power level) richvxr's was 300ish brake and he couldnt even get 2nd or 4th iirc. lol crap

 

well the vxr is only supposed to have 190bhp. so adding that amount of power will melt the box. lol

 

If that's the case then how come the VXR-R astra has the same gearbox then?...

They are very temperamental and aslong as there's no power shifting going on then there fine but a lot of abuse will break them. I've known loads to go on corsa and astras.

 

Could the hinge problem be the check strap that stops the door opening to far? It's a fault with corsa D's and a lot of dealers were replacing them but think it might only apply to cars with warranty..

 

not sure but its the black bit of metal that stops the doors at 3 different places and stops it going too far yeah i guess.

what is this called and could i change it myself?

i work in a vauxhall garage n quite often we get alot of them in n half the time it isnt the hinges its the check strap bolt that comes loose n causes it to jump about making the noise u hear or could be the checkstrap is needing replaced. both of them are as common as each other. check the bolt n make sure it isnt loose n causing the check strap to jump about n if its ok it will get replaced under warranty!

 

not in warrenty any more mate, do you have a part number? also is it an easy swap? i HATE the noise and it feels so cheap!

 

yeah its easy to change. u take the check strap bolt out which is on the A-pillar which is a 40torx then the 2 10mm nuts on the other side on the door then the door trim off n then the speaker n put ur hand up and take the old one off an then just swap it over n put the nuts back on then the checkstrap bolt n then open n close the door to check it and then if all is ok put the trim back on n thats u done.
