I wonder if anyone can help with my issue. I’ve a 60 plate 1.2 corsa. I’ve had it two yrs now and this has been an ongoing problem all the way through with nobody able to help. Sometimes my car has a strong petrol smell which coincides with the shift indicator light not working on the dash and a bit of juddering whilst in lower gears. Usually it can go a few weeks then rectify itself and go back to normal, this last time though it was a few months. Needless to say it’s driving me mad. I’ve had it in the garage and they couldn’t find any fault but agreed with the smell. It went through last MOT fine with a few suspension advisory’s but nothing else. Any advice would be appreciated. Do you know when the spark plugs where last changed? They would be responsible for that if they are old.

I had the same issue with the smell until I changed them.

Another way to check for petrol smell is the get your car raised whilst it's running to look for potential leaks.

Juddering is mostly common in Corsa's but I'd get the gearbox oil checked.
