Hi

I was wondering if anyone anyone can help me try to figure out what is wrong with my car.

Basically I stopped at a shop a few weeks ago and when I went to start it again it wouldn't start.

The AA towed it to my regular garage, the garage said they changed the crankshaft sensor and when that didnt work said they were pretty certain that it was the ECU and I would need an auto electrician.

The auto electrician came out, got it started and I thought that it was fixed.

Everything seemed fine for a few days but I stalled and it wouldn't start again.

I got bored waiting for the auto electrician to phone me back so i bought a scanner and got the following code:

B1000-36 Replace Electronic Control Unit (ECU).

I went ahead and replaced the ECU with a cloned plug and plug ecu and it started, I then scanned it again and found no fault codes, again I thought it was fixed.

I then done a couple of journeys, left it overnight and it wouldn't start again, but no fault codes.

It is a 2011 Corsa D 1.2 Limited Edition (A12 XER).

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers.

'B' touble codes are related to the car body
My initial thoughts would be the code was referring to the body ecu (also known as the bcm) not the engine ecu.
Without any further codes it would be hard to determine a cause. A dedicated vauxhall system scanner like OPCOM could pick up codes that general/universal scanners can't. That may be your best way forward rather than relying on other peoples 'guesses' and 'tries' all of which cost you money with mostly unsuccessful outcomes.
Did the garage charge you for the crank sensor guess?
