which ARB drop links are most suitable ?

They come in all sorts of prices and supposedly different manufacturers. No doubt some of them are cheap tat ?

My car is 2011 - 1.4 SE petrol.

TBH if you're not lowering the car just get the cheapest.

That said i normally use Delphi who supply car manufacturers, the part number you need is TC1806 (2 of);

^ £28 for both sides, which is about what you'll pay for 1 at eurocarparts!

Its exactly the same drop link accross all models of D, from your 1.4 to the VXR. Also the same drop link as the Fiat Grand Punto (all model), and Alfa Mito.

Cheers mate. I just want the car to be as near to OA as possible and don't wanna buy crap that I'll need to re-do in 12 months or even less . I am sure that some of these parts on say Fleabay, are cheap tat made in God knows where that might even just snap under strain.

Thanks for letting me know that 'EuroCarParts' price is for a single bar. I assumed it was for the pair.

When changing drop links I've seen conflicting info regarding doing the job.

One argument says take both wheels off at the same time.

Second argument suggests that you can jack up car . Change one drop link then after putting wheel back on, go round the other side and do the other one.


Is there a preference on the forum ?

You can do either.

Taking both wheels off at the same time is probably easier as it means the arb won't be twisted/under tension so it'll make disassembly/assembly easier.

If you do it one side at a time you'll find you'll need a pry bar to lever the arb up/down against the subframe to get bolt holes to line up.

This was a job I had almost as soon as we got the car.
I had both wheels off at the same time and used those exact links from ebay lol.
Took longer to drink my tea.
Easy job and so much better now.
