not been on for a while. just done a quick search but couldnt find anything. my 1.3 cdti is up for sale, and if i dont get what i want for it then im guna keep hold of it and get abit of work done to it.

anyone done much in the way of tuning these engines? spoke to DAP last year about services they do including researching into bigger turbos and intercoolers, but as i say that was a while ago when they still researching, any one had anything similar done?

a got told to remap mines 1st run it a couple of thousand miles then get a front mount intercooler and the turbo of the 1.7 cdti bolts straight in .. al this a was told takes mine from 90bhp to around the 140bhp mark and takes the torque to over 200ftpnd so a was told , will find out soon

I've got 1.3CDTI 90HP stock and after remap I've got 105HP an 230Nm torque. This remap is so common for engine, because you can get that performance in stock from this engine in some Lancia. (it's FIAT engine) Maybe now is littel bit more, beacause of K&N air filter :)

Hello,

Depening on boost the 1.3 will be able to run a fair bit more then stock bhp however with everything the more strain you put on the turbo the less life its likely to have. However have seen stock turbo's fail on the oem boost settings however that coul be down to a few issues.

Air Filter - Exhaust - FMIC - Remap will see a good gain from oem power.

My cars on it's 3rd turbo in 30K miles! is there anything I can do to stop the turbo failing?

well av looked into it at a mate of mines tuning shop (local to were a live) .. youv to remap it before u put front mount big turbo on , lets the engin get used to more power , u can pic up a 1.7 turbo for around 100pound , front mount silicone hoses (samco do a kit ) get an agresive remap turn the boost up and u can put out the same power as the standard 1.9cdti , 140bhp-215flbtourque , will be doing these mods to mine after x-mas , gona cost about 2k to get the car the way a want , biger brakes suspension etc , av got 3 years warrenty so if anythin goes wrong it gets fixed

sorry, but what a load of crap.

he's doing that so that he can charge to map your car twice imo.

samco hoses wont gain your any power either.

the only thing that may require a map of the ecu is the turbo- but it will probably be fine without a map straight away, you just wont be getting the best from it.

And if he's just going to be doing a map where he just "turns the boost up" then your car is going to chuck out a lot of black smoke at the back- theres alot more paramaters to mapping than just boost and fueling.

Boost hose's will help, as oem hoses seem to not like higher psi level however wouldnt see much gains just REAL power instead of restrictive power.

Remapping should be the last thing you do unless there is months and months apart from each tuning item.

point proven , was at a rolling road day yesterday and there was a boy with a corsa c cdti(same 90 bhp engine as mine) he had a front mount 1.7 turbo and an agresive remap, he made 143.6 bhp and 198.5f/lb of tourque. He has problems with boost hoses blowing of so he replaced them with a set from roose motorsport and solved the problem. not quite the same power as the 1.9CDTI but will br just as quik on power to weight ratio, tidy wee car to was well impresed

The Diesel Turbo needs a certain amount of back pressure to be efficient enough.

By all means if you wish to decat it go ahead, however from our own experience we wouldnt decat a vauxhall diesel.

Hello Andy,

Yes i was apart of the team that built the Hybrid Corsa C Diesel which is still going strong today i believe.....

Yes we can get the standard turbo and have the internals and housing bespoke which'll mean a better performing turbo - stronger mid-range and costs around ÂŁ700.00 however even though it'll be a hybrid turbo you'll always be restricted on the actual size of the turbo so need to think if its worth it. I think in total honest if budget was not a problem then go for it however if it is there are more cost effective modifications like FMIC and Remaps which'll give gains too.

Hello Andy,

Yes we'll be adding exactly what we do later this week when we are fully open from our new premesis.

However yes the Corsa & Astra Turbo we can modify to become stronger while holding more boost for longer. I believe wothout looking its around ÂŁ700.00 if your turbo can be used if not, new turbo hybrid unit ÂŁ1500.00
