The 1.7 turbo will fit the 1.3 with not much work. As for 'just buy a 1.7' well, then its just another 1.7 isn't it? I think its a good idea and the 1.3cdti fiat engine has good potential for not much outlay. However you need to be able to draw a line. Personally im aiming for 120:|

i was thinking of more the same lines to be honest. i was aiming for 125bhp, same as the 1.7cdti standard. after all thats a big power gain from standard. Might have to do the clutch though and beef up the brakes a little.

Those results are possible , but do not forget its not just a simple swap over you'll benefit more from adding the following too -

FMIC
Hoses
Boost Controller
Remap

Those items above combined would be over £1000.00 so it is far from just a simple swap over lads.

Hmm, this is a curious thread, a lot of different info with not much knowledge about diesel tuning in the mainstream I'm not surprised, don't think we'll see the best out of diesel tuning for a little while yet.

CTL, I must ask about the effects you've seen when decating a diesel as it goes against logic of forced induction tuning as the turbo normally destroys any pulse tuning and therefore back pressure is seen as something to be reduced in order to prevent turbo stall. I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just curious as to why the effects you've seen happen

not been on for a while. just done a quick search but couldnt find anything. my 1.3 cdti is up for sale, and if i dont get what i want for it then im guna keep hold of it and get abit of work done to it.

anyone done much in the way of tuning these engines? spoke to DAP last year about services they do including researching into bigger turbos and intercoolers, but as i say that was a while ago when they still researching, any one had anything similar done?

Only thing have done is a decat and straight pipe.. c&n filter and unplugged mass airflow and I get more power now then when I ad my old ecu mapped.. but am running on a 1.7cdti ecu now

I have a 2008 opel 1.3cdti z13dtj engine 75 hp with 170nm.with stage 1 now it is 240nm and 102hp 14% less diesel.when you the engine is worm coolants up you put the gas pedal in second at 1750rpm it goes crazy
