Might've made a bit of a booboo,

After replacing head gasket and timing gear built the car back up and drove to work this morning only to realise the bonnet release catch isn't engaging the lock

Was fairly sure id put the release assembly back together right, sat the pin back in the loop and fastened it back in with the clip but when I pull the handle it's not engaging the cable as it's too slack

Going to try give the cable a pull with a set of long nose pliars later on to see if that works but I'm open to any suggestions if it doesn't as I need back under the bonnet asap!

Not entirely sure if there would be enough room to jack it up and go up from underneath just to try release the lock think exhaust manifold might be in the way

Anyone got any ideas?
