Boot light not working but bulb is OK

Hey,

I need your help.

My boot light doesn't work, so I replaced the bulb and it still doesn't work. The bulb I took out works fine too. Both bulbs work but when installed in the boot, the boot light doesn't come on.

What on earth is wrong? Is there a fuse just for the boot light?

All other interior bulbs work fine and everything else on the car is working.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

I've checked the wires going into the actual boot light. One wire is live and the other I assume is earth.
However the light does not come on even though the bulb actually works when I test it on a battery.

I guess from this, that the wire I assumed is earth has lost its connection somewhere. When I connected this to earth on the car them the bulb worked. So this wire has lost its connection somewhere.

Help! What's wrong and how do I fix this.

I'm having this exact same thing! I can't figure it out. The boot light metal contacts are reading 12v - yet when a bulb is in there (festoon type), no light. Bulb works in the interior light fitting though.

I can't get my head around this - what could possibly be the issue? Someone please help explain this! o_O
