Hi Guys,

Is there anyway to deactivate the airbags on the front seats without the warning light coming on the dash?

Thanks.

Under the new regs if the car has an airbag system fitted it must be operational. I have heard about fitting a resistor into the circuit to fool it into thinking the airbags are still there but no idea what size or where you'd fit them.

No, the warning light must light with the ignition and go out once the engine is running to indicate the system is working, if it stays lit then it's a fault and a failure. That's why you'll need to ensure if you remove the airbags you'll need to ensure the system still wirks, hence the "fooling".

No you can change the seats fine, you will just need the seat airbags disabled if you have them in the ECU, so then the ECU knows they shouldn't be there and won't flag up an airbag warning.

Not sure if it can be done with OpCom, so you'll probably need someone with tech2, There is Pecky in Birmingham, Stampede in Halifax and someone else I don't remember the name in Nottingham.
