I'm looking into retro fitting heated seats to my sxi. It's a 10 plate with non heated seats so I need to work out what I need to buy/ if it's viable?

I'm thinking I need tge seats themselves, and a new centre console header to add the controls

What else might I need?

Would need to be tech2d. I think there are some wire missing from the looms to the seats and from the buttons as well. Think you would need a heated steering wheel as well and appropriate wires to the clock spring as I would guess it would trigger a open circuit warning and shut the seat down if it detected it was missing.

Wiring wise you may need a rear fuse box if yours is not already populated and you will need to bring the wiring from the boot fuse box to the seats more than likely as vauxhall probably ditched the wiring.

To be honest I would recommend against it as it will be a hell of a job and to be honest my corsa se has it and its no better than the ÂŁ5 over seat things you can get. (Most of them have multiple heat levels aswell which these do not)

In my old corsa S i took the fabric of the seats and installed two of these over seat seat heaters inside the front chairs than hard wired them into the cig lighter via a 3 way switch on each side and drilled them either side of the console by the footwell. Worked quite well but cant speak for saftey and would be weary about the seat pirecing them.

That's really helpful, thank you! I'll ditch off the idea and look into pads instead :)
