Is tech 2 the same as diagnostic equipment?

Hi all,

I've just purchased a second hand GID screen. I know my local garage has diagnostic equipment for vauxhalls, any idea if this will be able to marry the screen with my car? Is the tech 2 equipment the same as diagnostic equipment? I am going to ask the mechanic but he's not always sure about these modern things.

Yeah normal diagnostic will only read fault codes etc, can't be used for programming

Stampede fitted mine, swapped the fuel type from petrol to derv and coded it to my car,
He goes all over the uk doing this as well as fitting cruise control and smd conversions so drop him a on and see if he will be anywhere in the local area?

We are doing an smd day at mine next Sunday if you fancy a run over?
But I am guessing it's a fair trek from east Anglia (NG22 area of north notts.

I sent him a PM but he hasn't replied for a few nights. I'm sure he's busy and I'm impatient.

Annoyingly it's only 125 miles away yet due to the crappy roads around here I'd be looking at 3.5 hours. I'd really like an SMD converstion as well.

More than welcome over mate & cruise & full smd at the same time is only £200
You would have to speak to stampede about what extra he would charge for GID calibration aswell, but guess if your having that all done its well worth the trip and time..
